Americans Alarmed by Potential Social Security Cuts and Mismanagement

Washington, D.C. – A startling new survey by The Seniors Center finds that only 44% of Americans are aware that Social Security benefits will be cut by over 20% in less than seven years if Congress fails to act. Additionally, 74% are skeptical of how the Social Security Trust Fund is managed.

This should be a wake-up call for lawmakers. The public not only fears cuts—they don’t trust the system that’s supposed to protect their benefits.

The Seniors Center is urging swift legislative action to prevent cuts and restore public confidence in the Social Security system.
