Lower Prescription Drug Prices Could Be on the Horizon

The cost of prescription drugs is a major concern for seniors, especially those on a fixed income. In recent years, prices have skyrocketed, making it difficult for many to afford the medications they need.

There is some good news on the horizon, however. The U.S. Senate recently passed a budget bill that could lower drug prices for those on Medicare.

According to AARP, the bill would allow Medicare to negotiate directly with drug companies for lower prices. This could save seniors billions of dollars on their prescription costs.

The bill still needs to be passed by the House and signed into law by the President, but it is a step in the right direction. For seniors who are struggling to pay for their medications, any relief is welcome news.

At The Seniors Center, we’re advocating on behalf of seniors. We know how important it is for retirees to be able to afford the medications they need. If you’re ready to learn more about our mission, we invite you to follow us on Twitter and Facebook today!
