It’s time to tell our elected officials to #KeepOurTrust!

Through hundreds of thousands of petitions, surveys, comments, and social media discussions, The Seniors Center’s friends and supporters have made it clear: Congress, we demand protection for Social Security–and we want to know what you’re planning to do about it.

Now it’s time for our members of Congress to answer.

Today we announced #KeepOurTrust, a brand new campaign that puts the ball in our Congressmen and Congresswomen’s court by asking them to pledge their individual support to protecting Social Security.  The #KeepOurTrust Pledge asks members of Congress:

To commit themselves to supporting legislation that fills the funding gap projected to cut benefits 25% short by 2034,

And end the use of Social Security taxes for any reason other than funding Social Security benefits.

For the first time, we’re going to our elected officials themselves.  Our supporters need to know where their members of Congress stand on prioritizing the Trust Fund and our nation’s beneficiaries.

Here at The Seniors Center, we’ll regularly post updates on #KeepOurTrust’s progress, campaign news, and what actions you can take to get involved in your district.

For now, we invite you to take a look at the #KeepOurTrust homepage, follow the campaign on Facebook and Twitter, and sign up for #KeepOurTrust email updates for more information.
