New Policies Could Protect Seniors from Bad Guardians

Bad guardians can be devastating for seniors. These predatory individuals swoop in when a senior is at their most vulnerable and convince the senior and their loved ones that they need the services of an appointed guardian. Then, they can begin to take the retiree’s money while placing them in an often-dangerous living situation—all sanctioned by the counts.

However, new testimony in front of Congress could be the start of change. A witness is calling on the Social Security administration to communicate with the courts in order to stop the payment of benefits to bad guardians.
