A Coconut Grove man is facing serious legal troubles for allegedly collecting a late individual’s Social Security for over a decade.
The man, who is a pastor of a local church, was listed as the representative payee for a person known only as H. L. G.. Reports state that this individual died back in 2012.
Not only did the man not report the death, but he apparently lied on government documents. He did this when he claimed the person was living with him. This type of Social Security fraud is all too common, and it often takes a long time to discover.
