The Seniors Center is spreading the word about an alarming trend: so-called “guardians” exploiting and abusing their senior wards, liquidating their assets, blowing through their savings and bank accounts, and even denying them access to their own families.
All these crooks have to do is attend a short orientation and complete a series of classes. After, they become certified legal guardians and a court can appoint them to oversee every single decision a senior makes, leaving the victims and their families feeling powerless.
In our latest news release, The Seniors Center President Dan Perrin draws attention to this unfair and exploitative manipulation of the guardianship system and calls for immediate action to protect seniors from abusive guardians.
