What the ‘Age Shift’ Argument for Social Security Neglects to Mention

If there’s one thing that can be said about the argument for Social Security and the case to secure its future, it’s that it appeals to everyone. We all should be concerned about this program’s future.

Sure, we associate this program largely with older individuals. However, young people have a vested interest too. After all, everyone pays into this program. It’s only fair that everyone gets paid back.

While some articles like this one make great points about the age shift in the population, there’s one factor they neglect to mention. It’s not just that the population is getting older that is creating a problem with Social Security’s future. The lack of a true Trust Fund model, with funds managed properly, is the problem.

We should remember that this program can be there for everyone – so long as it’s managed properly.

Help The Seniors Center Protect the Future of Social Security

The Seniors Center is committed to finding solutions to strengthen and protect the Social Security Trust Fund. Social Security is a contract between citizens and the government. Money deposited in the Trust Fund should only be used to pay benefits to eligible recipients.

The Seniors Center is demanding Congress finally put a stop to the careless borrowing and spending by greedy politicians that has put our Trust Fund and our secure retirement in jeopardy.

At The Seniors Center, our goal is to help seniors, and we’re doing that by protecting the future of Social Security. Retirees shouldn’t have to worry about losing their hard-earned benefits to taxes or the agendas of greedy politicians. If you agree, we invite you to sign our petition today! And follow The Seniors Center on Twitter and Facebook for more updates!
