Social Security 2100: A Sacred Trust is a piece of legislation that could strengthen and improve Social Security for generations to come. The bill was recently reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives by Rep. John Larson. The bill is currently in committee, and a recent change merits a closer look.

According to The Motley Fool, President Biden made remarks in January that no one who makes less than $400,00 will need to pay more in taxes. The Social Security 2100 Act had previously contained a gradual payroll tax increase from 12.4 percent to 14.8 percent, with employers continuing to pay half of that amount. However, the new version of the bill has removed that provision.
