The Seniors Center is advocating on behalf of seniors in Washington. We’re calling on Congress to pass laws that will protect the future of Social Security and ensure that this vital program is here to stay.

One of these important pieces of legislation is the Social Security 2100 Act. The bill, introduced by U.S. Rep. John Larson, would increase Social Security payroll taxes for those who earn more than $400,000. Currently, there is a cap on how much income can be taxed by Social Security, meaning that high earners actually pay a lower percentage of their income into the program.

Right now, the bill is in committee, which means that Congress is reviewing it and considering its implications.

The best way to make your voice heard on this important issue? Reach out to your elected representatives and tell them you support the Social Security 2100 Act. We’ve made it easy to take action with quick links to contact forms as well as online petitions that we’ll be bringing to Washington.
